Custom Dinner Plates for Healthier Eating and Portion Control

Deep in the back of everyone’s cabinet is the set of fine china that we bring out for holidays and dinner parties. They are large, beautiful and always feel fragile in our hands. On the holidays, we set the table with pride and fill these plates with large gourmet meals. There’s a sense of satisfaction when the plate is full of food and we eat all of it.  Our everyday meals however are often on plain, plastic or even cheap paper plates. The irony is that often these everyday plates are larger than we need for a healthy diet.

In recent discoveries into my own health, I learned that size of American dinner plates has grown from 8-9inches in the 1940′s to 11-12 inches today. That means if we’re filling up the plate and consuming all of that, we’re actually eating 30% more than people did 50 years ago. That adds up daily and compounds into extra weight over time. With one minor change to how we fill up a plate, we could actually lose weight without dieting! Add this with The Plate Method (see links below) and your dinner will have the proper balance of protein, carbohydrates and veggies to maintain your health.

So, in keeping with the spirit of “Functional Art for Everyday Living”, I offer a solution: custom dinner plates.  A set of 4,6 or 8 custom designed dinner plates 8 inches across- perfect for day to day meals and dishwasher safe. Stop eating over the sink!

4, 8 inch plates in round or square starting at $60

4, 8 inch plates (round or square) with acid etched designs (with your provided jpeg) $80

I can match most kitchen colors and designs. Acid etch designs vary depending on complexity of the image. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery.
